SILENT WITNESS

These images were taken on the Central Coast, New South Wales. Walking amongst these Sydney Red gums and Old Man Banksia one gets the feeling you are in the company of witnesses to generations of change, those who have adapted and twisted to meet the seasons.

THE BEAUTY IS IN THE DETAIL

Taken at Cradle Mountain Tasmania. When walking around such magnificent surroundings it is sometimes easy to forget stop and look at the smaller and no less beautiful detail. This image I thought reflected some of the complex makeup of those surroundings.

UNEARTHLY HORIZONS

I have spent many an hour crawling around this geological wonderland in the Bouddi National Park. The place is almost hypnotic, losing time here is enjoyably inevitable. I have shot the place from virtually the microscopic to its widest horizons, but I know when I return I will find something new.

THE ANATOMY OF A RUSTY GIANT

The dockyard cranes on Cockatoo Island stand like colossal rusty monoliths, on this day their brutish presence was offset by an incredibly soft and wispy textured sky. They echo an era of mechanical industry loaded with determination and tenacity.

IF YOU LOOK CAREFULLY B&W

These images were taken in a paperbark forest on the Central Coast, New South Wales. It is a place where you feel if you look carefully you may see something or someone amongst the profusion of the tree branches.

Walking around the Australian bush one often has encounters with its elderly characters, this is one of them, Old Tom. Taken on the Central Coast New South Wales.

THE SCREAM

After the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch ‘The Scream’. Through sandstone, weather and millions of years nature provides its own version, this was shot in the Bouddi National Park where nature paints in ‘sandstrokes’.

BOMBO CHAMPAIGNE

Bombo on the South Coast New South Wales is a favorite with many photographers not hard to see why. The old quarry has some of the most amazing geology, it’s nickname the ‘Boneyard’ seems totally appropriate.

SEASIDE GENTRY

Having recently moved to the Central Coast NSW I have become acquainted with and very fond of these quirky birds. They make fantastic subjects, elegant and clumsy all in the same oversized body. These images are just a few of the many taken over the last few months, each has its own story.

Part of the diverse landscape on the Central Coast New South Wales are several wetlands. Fantastic places to get lost for a few hours, especially at dawn when the light is at its best.

ENLIGHTENED HERD

Taken at the Cape Egmont Lighthouse, North Island New Zealand. First time I have seen cows and a lighthouse in the same frame, normally one would have Mount Taranaki as a backdrop but this day was gloomy which I didn’t really mind, seems to add something to the image and its not overly touristy.

SEA HORSE

While strolling along the beach at Spoon Bay on the Central Coast New South Wales I stumbled across this incredible installation by local artist Peter Rush. Peter only uses natural materials he gathers from the beach and surroundings to create his magic. I was drawn to the way he had assembled his creation with this mix of materials hence the focus on that detail rather than the whole.
